Les alpages du Lachat d'en Haut
The route climbs through forest on the recently restored Sentier des Gardes et des Harkis — a path of remarkable heritage value — before breaking out onto the high summer pastures of Lachat d'en Haut, where a panoramic view opens over the Aiguille de Varan (2547 m), the Aravis range, and the town of Sallanches below.

Boucle du Lac Vert
The trail loops around Lac Vert, a glacial lake classified as a natural site since 1909, whose emerald waters — coloured by underwater vegetation and blue algae — reflect the surrounding pine trees and the Mont Blanc massif. Wooden walkways installed by the Office National des Forêts guide walkers along the lake's edge, with boulders to scramble and the Fiz chain rising on the opposite horizon.

Balade du Plateau d'Assy au Lac Vert
A less-travelled forest route to the classified natural site of Lac Vert, passing a Himalayan footbridge over the Nant Bordon and contemporary sculptures, with a panoramic view of the Mont-Blanc massif along the way. Swimming is forbidden at the lake, whose fragile mountain ecosystem the trail's signage invites walkers to respect.

Lac de Pormenaz
Perched at 1,950 m in the crystalline Pormenaz massif, this lake sits beneath the Pointe Noire de Pormenaz on terrain shaped by glaciers some 10,000 years ago — rounded granite moutonnée rock alternating with hollows filled by peat bogs and small lakelets. The approach rewards with magnificent views of the Fiz mountain range, and the lake's island setting on the border of the Réserve Naturelle de Passy adds a sense of genuine alpine remoteness.

Boucle de Pormenaz
Straddling the Sixt-Passy and Aiguilles Rouges national nature reserves, this loop climbs from the heights of Servoz to the Lac de Pormenaz, threading through a massif of varied natural heritage above the Gorges de la Diosaz. The route is open from mid-May to mid-October, subject to snow and weather conditions.

Lac de Pormenaz par la Chorde
The route's defining challenge is La Chorde — a passage equipped with ladders that hauls you up from a torrent to the wild, pristine Lac de Pormenaz, cradled within the Passy Nature Reserve beneath the Rochers des Fiz. The return leg threads through Les Argentières, with tricky passages, before dropping past the balconies of Lac Vert to the valley.
