Sentier du Sel
De Sentier du Sel — het "pad van het witte goud" — slingert aan de voet van de Vaudse Alpen door gehuchten, bossen, weiden en wijngaarden en volgt de geschiedenis van de zoutwinning. Ongeveer 30 minuten vanaf het beginpunt bij Plambuit markeert het dorp Salins de plek waar in de 15e eeuw de eerste zoute bron werd ontdekt, en de route volgt de originele pijpleiding van lariks hout die het water ooit door het dal naar beneden voerde.

The route crosses the historic Trechadèze, where violent clashes erupted in 1978 between the Ormonans and the Vaud republic, before climbing to the Col de la Croix, where centuries of erosion have carved gypsum pyramids into striking geological formations.
