The Sentiero delle Farangole cuts through the heart of the Pale di San Martino — the Dolomites' largest concentration of dramatic rock formations — linking the Rosetta hut on a stark high plateau with the Mulaz hut beneath the Focobon. The pass itself is framed by impressive rock spires, with the three-thousander skyline of Cima dei Bureloni, Cima della Vezzana, and Cimòn della Pala rising above Passo Rolle to the north.

Via ferrata "Camillo Depaoli"
The route begins as a farm road, transitions through forested slopes below steep Dolomite cliffs, then finds a weakness in the rock to climb on ferrata wire to a point just below the Rifugio Velo della Madonna — named for a 440-metre climbing route on the Spigolo del Velo, opened in 1920, that still draws climbers from around the world. The ferrata itself reaches 2,326 m at the jagged southern tip of the Pale di San Martino group, never difficult or especially exposed, with the wired section covering roughly a hundred metres of cliff.
