Antica Strada del Costo
Sentiero 666 follows what is believed to be an ancient Roman road running from Mosson to Asiago, crossing the old narrow-gauge railway bed before plunging into dense forest dominated by red firs. The plateau around Cesuna and Monte Zovetto is scarred with shelters and positions from the Great War, where the Austro-Hungarian advance was halted — marked today by a monument to gold-medal commander Ugo Bignami at Passo Zovo.

The trail climbs the western flank of Monte Rovolo through forest, following a wartime mule track built to carry an aqueduct that hauled water from the Astico river all the way to the summit of Monte Foraoro — a feat described as a "miracle of engineering" for its era. Around 1050 m, the first stone mountain huts appear, some restored, before the path rejoins the modern fire road built by the Veneto Region after devastating blazes in the late 1990s.
