  The trail climbs from alder scrub past ruins at 1858 m and a cascade plunging into the broad hollow of Chiapili di Sopra, threading through boulder fields and high alpine pastures — Alpe Pertica, Alpe Fumetta, Alpe Pianass — with the northern walls of the Levanne massif facing you the whole way. At the top, near Alpe Comba, it meets the old royal hunting road that once linked the Nivolet plateau to Noasca across the Colle della Terra and Colle della Porta.
