Croix du Nivolet depuis le Sire
Perched at 1547 metres atop its cliff face, the Croix du Nivolet dominates Chambéry and the Lac du Bourget below — a landmark visible from the road long before you reach it. The path climbs through wild flowers, passes the chalets of Glaize, and returns via the "Pas de l'Échelle," where iron rungs bolted into the rock and cable handrails guide you down the stone face.

The Margériaz plateau is riddled with limestone cavities — gouffres, tannes, glacières, a natural stone arch known as the Pont de Pierre, and a fairy grotto — all shaped by water working through the karst. Nine standing stones mark the route's discovery halts, and at the Tanne du Névé, a guided spelunking option opens a door into the underground world beneath your feet.
