The ridge walk from Teufelssprung to Gamshag (2,178 m) is considered the trail's finest stretch, passing small mountain lakes including the Hochtorsee before the route demands sure-footedness and a head for heights on the rocky Tristkogel (2,095 m). From there, further summits — Saalkogel and Staffkogel — carry you across the valley head of Saalbach Hinterglemm with panoramic views at every turn.
