Au pied du Roc d'Enfer
This loop through the Essert-Romand countryside passes the 1859 Graydon chapel — dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, its porch stones salvaged from Aulps Abbey — before climbing through alpine meadows toward the Col Ratti, a sun-scorched, shadeless pass whose name derives from the French word for "roast." The route unfolds beneath the looming mass of the Roc d'Enfer itself, with views stretching to the Aravis peaks and Mont-Blanc.
