Le sentier grimpe à travers d'idylliques prairies alpines en passant par les alpages de Baumoos, Seeon et Himmelmoos jusqu'au Brünnsteinhaus, où le panorama s'étend du Kaisergebirge aux Alpes centrales. En chemin, le calcaire pâle d'Oberrhätkalk du sommet — formé dans une mer chaude et peu profonde il y a 200 millions d'années — s'élève comme la proue pétrifiée d'un navire au-dessus d'une mer de cimes d'arbres, et avec un peu de chance vous pourrez apercevoir des bouquetins errant sur les pentes en troupeaux séparés.

The Trainsjoch sits on the border between Bavaria and Austria, its open, free-standing position making it an exceptional viewpoint — particularly toward the south into the Bavarian Alps. The route passes the Mariandlalm at around 1.200 m, an alpine hut with a sunny terrace, before the final approach steepens sharply just below the summit.

Bayrischzeller Höhenweg
The trail winds in serpentines through forest above Bayrischzell before opening onto the sunny meadow hollow of the Neuhüttenalm, where the Ursprungtal drops nearly 500 metres below and the view stretches freely into the Tyrolean mountains. Cows still graze the remaining alms on the Seeberg's flanks, a landscape shaped by centuries of alpine farming — and, briefly, by Bavarian soldiers who kept watch here against Tyrolean Gebirgsschützen between 1806 and 1809.

Le sentier fait le tour du Brünnstein — un sommet calcaire pâle d'Oberrhätkalk qu'un alpiniste du XIXe siècle a qualifié de plus belle forme de montagne de la vallée bavaroise de l'Inn — en passant par les alpages de Baumoos, Seeon et Himmelmoos avant d'atteindre le refuge Brünnsteinhaus en dessous du sommet. Avec un peu de chance, les randonneurs peuvent apercevoir des bouquetins dans le terrain environnant, où une population de vingt à cinquante animaux est issue de cinq individus suisses relâchés en 1963.

The Brünnstein itself — its pale Oberrhätkalk summit described by one 19th-century alpinist as a "mächtige Felsenkrone" rising above a broad green base — rewards walkers with a celebrated view of the Kaiser massif and the chance to spot ibex, first introduced here from Switzerland in 1963.
