The trail traverses scree-covered terrain above Switzerland's largest cow pasture, the Urnerboden, passing a small glacier lake at the foot of the Clariden's north face and the eerie "Tyyfelsfriedhof" (devil's cemetery) rock formation. Along the way, the sound of sheep bells drifts up from the pasture below.
