The Sentiero del Pellegrino climbs through the millenary forest of Tarvisio on its way to a sanctuary perched at 1,789 metres, where the rock walls of Jof di Montasio, Jof Fuart, and Mangart fill the horizon. This is a borderland path in the truest sense, threading through the meeting point of Latin, Slavic, and Germanic worlds at the junction of the Carnic and Julian Alps.
