The route crosses into Austria for 8 km, threading past the Dreisesselfels and the Steinernes Meer before reaching a Dreiländereck marked by a granite pillar — stone monuments to centuries of border history. A short detour leads to the Adalbert-Stifter-Denkmal above the Plöckenstein-See.
