The route climbs from the Kehlsteinhaus — the 1938 "Eagle's Nest" perched above Obersalzberg — up through the airy Mannlgrat via a via ferrata that is often underestimated, before reaching the 2,522 m summit of Hoher Göll. In this high-alpine terrain, progress is slow, and the Hohe Brett appears deceptively close from the ridge.
