Giro lungolago Agno–Caslano
From Agno's lakeside town park, the path crosses a river, traverses a wide wooden footbridge along the shore of Lake Lugano, and keeps Monte Caslano in plain sight throughout — ending at the lively piazza of Caslano. The surrounding hills, rolling up toward Monte Lema, are lined with ancient chestnut forests and carpets of ferns.

The trail circles the Monte Caslano peninsula — also called Sassalto — hugging the shore of Lake Lugano and passing through a forest of lindens, elms, ashes, chestnuts, and maples, with some 600 plant species and 150 moss species recorded on this federally protected hillside. From Torrazza, the narrow arm of the lake separates you from the Italian village of Lavena by little more than a stone's throw, while a chapel near the summit looks out over the lake basins of Magliaso and Agno.
