Via Verde Varesina
From the bridge over the River Giona, the trail climbs to the Motti dei Ronchetti — where the hillside drops sheer to the lake — then threads through Torretta, Ronchi, and Colmegna before rising to Bonga, where the view opens across the water to Stresa on the opposite shore. Yellow metal markers, placed by members of the Luino branch of the Italian Alpine Club, guide walkers the whole way down into the centre of Luino.

From the shore of Lake Maggiore at Vira Gambarogno, the path climbs through forest to the Passo dell'Alpe di Neggia (1394 m), where the panorama opens onto the lake and the peaks above the Verzasca Valley. The pass sits beneath Monte Gambarogno (1734 m), whose summit commands an extraordinary sweep from the Monte Rosa massif to Basòdino and the bays of Locarno and Ascona.
